A momentary break from cute

Lest you all think the only thing I ever take pictures of is cute, adorable, handsome, funny, sweet little faces, here are a few shots from my oh, so quaint backyard. 

A little water + a little sand = a lot of fun

A while ago, Reed and I took a ride over to the Kingdom so the boys could have an afternoon play date. It was a warm, sunny day, so the sand table was the entertainment choice. 

Reed and Caleb were very busy, concentrating intently on all the cool things to do.

Then, one misdirected fling of a cup of wet sand...

And the fun really took off!

However, if you know Reed at all, you know he is not easily distracted. Jenn quickly hopped to action to clean Reed up, but he never missed a beat -- playing through the entire shower and never even wondering why he was getting so wet!

He was actually more put off by my camera in his face. ;)

He loved getting totally soaked.

Caleb and Reed thought it was all great fun.

Although, possibly, Caleb didn't think the shower part was as much fun as Reed did.

"Put that hose away, okay? Crazy grownups."

In my apparently never-ending quest to post pictures from Amy's summer visit, here are some more shots of some fun in the backyard...

This made me smile. They look like two little old men sitting in their chairs passing the time of day.

He thought it was so wonderful to be standing in the water wearing his clothes and shoes. The things Gheghe lets you get away with!

Cupsogue 062808

After we finished our "family photo shoot", everyone decided it was time to eat, so we headed over to Cupsogue Beach down by the inlet where they have a place to dine and also, in the evenings, a live band. It was a pleasant way to feed and entertain everyone all at once. After we ate and listened to the music for awhile, we wandered down to the beach where the kids burned off some energy (where do they get that stuff??) and the "older" family members enjoyed the cool breeze and the sights and sounds of the beautiful ocean we are so lucky to have practically in our backyard. Here are a few shots from Cupsogue with lots more to be seen here. Playing catch-up

As you all know, in addition to the excitement surrounding the arrival of our new little sweetie, we also had the highly anticipated and welcomed summer visit from Amy, John and the kids. Unfortunately, John was only able to stay for a few days as work beckoned him home, but we were extra lucky this year because Amy, Leah, Jack and Will decided to stay until their new nephew/cousin made his appearance. It was wonderful having everyone here, but I fell terribly behind on getting pictures up on the blog. This could have been due to all the gazillion pictures I took. I can't resist all these cute, beautiful, handsome, adorable faces! I am going to try to get caught up over the next few days weeks days. ;)

Thought you'd like a peek at the "happy chaos" of Seth's first birthday party.

As you can see, there were lots of cute kids present and that means lots of cute pictures. So many I couldn't decide which ones to post (well, that and my daily loss of brain cells). But you lucky ducks can see them all here... or here. Enjoy!

Sunday fun

This past Sunday we all gathered at Party Central to meet (Em's mother-in-law) Jonah's Gramie, Sabine. There were kids all over the place and fun to be had by all. Here are a few shots...

Another day, more beach pictures

A beautiful day for the beach, so off we went. We had quite a crew there, too. (They didn't call Westhampton Culvertown for nothing!) Sean and Lisha were there with Reed; Emma, Jonah and Sabine came with Sherry; Lissa arrived with her five (Noah, Sam, Phoebe, Micah and Seth - if you recall); and Bob Bender showed up with Emma and Chris. The kids found plenty to do, so the adults didn't spend too much time sitting! ; )

Now that Reed has gotten bigger, he and Caleb seem to enjoy each other's company quite a bit.

Funny haired cuteness

As soon as Reed saw the camera he kept trying to grab for it. It was quite a sight as he crawled towards/on me and I kept backing up, laughing and snapping the pictures. I got lucky and was able to get a few cute shots...
